Out & about – Christmas Windows 2017
It’s here again! And as the old cliche goes, has it really been a year? But we do love Christmas and one of the best bits is the spectacular windows that our favourite retailers create, so we’ve been out and about in London to see what 2017 has to offer.
Selfridges campaign this year controversially began in July with their Christmas shop opening and despite their famous windows launching weeks before the other iconic retailers, a second wave are due to hit at the end of this month. Honouring the cities they call home, London, Manchester and Birmingham the London windows are themed around ‘The Parade’ and celebrate the ethnicity diversity and eccentricity of our much loved capital. Colour, mayhem, bright and bold, they are certainly fun and eye catching.
Harvey Nichols striking windows inspired by the AW17 & SS18 catwalk collections are simply dazzling with funky, modern, colourful displays adorned with mirror balls, giant baubals and incredible lighting. They certainly make us feel happy and joyful and we love the vibrant colours and fun design.
With the famous Clement Clarke Moore poem ‘Twas the night before Christmas’ as the inspiration, Liberty’s windows are traditionally themed ‘Magic of Christmas’ with snow capped rooftops and church spires, woodland animals and London post boxes.
From festive and classic winter to bright and bold modern prints, the use of window graphics to frame and add dimension was in use both in large and small stores.
Delicately hung decorative light bulbs add a touch of class and are eye catching without detracting from the mannequins. We love French Connection’s sophisticated winter theme and pastel colour pallet.
Clever LED’s, Neon, colour and reflection
Selfridges ‘parade’ theme continues in store with a marching band and regal crowns with a modern twist.
‘Its all about the eyes’ dramatic masks and striking lids.
It’s time to party, Glitter & glamour, colourful & fun
The weird and wonderful
Merry Christmas from Cigie & Seb!
